What is the process to immigrate to Canada

Yay! That’s the first step. Finding out and checking the process for Canada. I shall mention a few points here that you need to have a basic understanding of.

Here are a few things you need to know anyway:

Step 1: Find out if you’re eligible

Step 2: Get your initial documents ready

You need documents, such as language test results, Education equivalency (ECA) to show that you’re eligible for Express Entry. Some documents take a long time to get, so you should get them ready.

Step 3: Create and submit your profile

Your Express Entry profile is where you give information about yourself.

If you’re eligible, you will be accepted into the pool of candidates.

You’ll be ranked in the Express Entry pool using a points-based system. Your score is based on the information in your profile.

Create your application and get into the pool.

Step 4: Receive an invitation (ITA) and apply for permanent residence

They send invitations to apply to the candidates with the highest scores in the pool as per the DRAW score. If you are invited to apply, you’ll have 60 days to submit your application for permanent residence. (as per the checklist)

The following is a list of the most common documents you will need:

· IELTS, CELPIP or TEF official results

· PNP (Provincial Nomination Program) stating you have been nominated by a provincial government (if applicable)

· A written job offer from a Canadian employer (if you have one)

· Proof of funds

· Valid passports

· ECA reports

· Medical Certificate

· Police Certificate

They’ll process most complete applications that have all the supporting documents in 6 months or less.

CRS breakup:

Core factors for a maximum of 500 points:

· Age

· Education

· English / French language proficiency

· work experience

Spouse or Common-Law partner factors for a maximum of 40 points:

· Education

· Language proficiency

· work experience

Skill Transferability factors for a maximum of 100 points

· Education + good language skills

· Foreign work experience + good language skills

· Certificate of qualification of a good language skills

Additional factors for a maximum of 600 points:

· Siblings living in Canada

· Post-secondary education in Canada

· French language skills
